From Faro airport follow signs saying (SAIDA) which means exit. You will then see blue signs saying A22 Portimao.
You will start to go over a bridge then see another blue sign saying A22 Portimao; this is approximately 3.7 km from the airport.
You take the sign and join the road which although is says A22 Portimao is still part, at the present time, of the N125 stay on that road do not get caught in one of the slip roads.
At 11.4 km you will see a blue sign saying Lisboa Portimao and you branch right following this sign which will take you off the N125. You are now on the A22 and you stay on this road following the signs to Portimao DO NOT TAKE THE BRANCH OFF TO LISBOA.
After approximately a further 66 km, turn off the motorway taking the turn off to Lagos.
You then come to a roundabout on the edge of Lagos, take the first exit signposted Vila do Bispo, you are back on the N125.
Carry on on the N125 (approximately 9 to 15 km) to Vila do Bispo ,you will see the village and a large water tower, as you branch off it may be sign posted Aljezur, Lisboa, turn right at the end of the slip road, you carry on on this road which is the West Coast Road (past the windmills on the right) after about 10 minutes you will see a sign on your right to the village of Pedralva you ignore this, but the next right turn is signposted to Vilarinha, please note it does have a cobbled entrance and it is quite easy to miss.
Turn right carry on going down the hill winding into the valley and follow this road until it ends (approximately 3 km). At this time you will have gone through the cobbled village of Vilarinha, it is quite narrow, you will see our blue and white house on the right, at the very end of the village last drive on the right before dead end.
If you miss the Vilarinha turn off and carry on, on the West Coast road, you will come to the village of Carrapateira and you will have gone too far. However, if you just carry on past Carrapateira and take the first right turn, which again is another dirt track, it's actually at very rural cross roads, and here you would be able to turn left to go to the beach, if you turn right this will take you another way back to Vilarinha and our house. If you carry on along that track for about 3.5 km you will eventually come to a T junction, turn left at the T junction and follow this road until it ends in the village of Vilarinha. If you look across the fields on your way you will be able to see our blue and white house.
The telephone number for the house is (00351) 282973254.
