Amado beach (West Coast) 
Just outside Carrapateira, a large sandy, clean beach which is easy to get to and has with plenty of room. There are two surf schools and can be very busy during August. In the main summer months it has two snack bars, music and a great atmosphere. There are also lifeguards in high season. International surfing championships have been held here and you will see many surfers throughout the year. |

Amoreira Beach (West Coast) 
Above Aljezur, this beautiful beach with sand dunes and a wonderful lagoon. There are very strong currents and swimming can be dangerous, apart from in the lagoon. There is a restaurant which is open all year round and lifeguards during high season. In Aljezur, close to the gym "Pavilhão Municipal Gimnodesportivo", there is a signpost towards the Beach of Amoreira. The road to the beach is about 8 km. |

Arrifana Beach (West Coast) 
A large expanse of sand (stretching for more than half a kilometre) which is sheltered by cliffs. Outside the summer bathing season this beach is very popular amongst surfers and bodyboarders. The beach is easily reached via a ramp and some wooden steps. Drive towards Aljezur. Before you reach Aljezur there is a left turn signposted Vale de Telha - follow the signposts to the beaches of Arrifana. |
