If you love to feel sand between your toes our holiday home locations in Portugal and Florida offer beach perfection.

Both destinations are famous for their beaches. In 2020 Portugal’s Algarve  was voted the Best Beach Destination for the 7th time in the prestigious World Travel Awards, the ‘Oscars’ of the travel industry. Portugal has also been named Europe’s Leading Destination.

The Algarve has long been famous for its beautiful sandy beaches featuring stunning rock formations. The region boasts 87 blue-flag beaches and 48 beaches with full facilities for disabled beach-goers.

There are several wonderful beaches to explore near our holiday homes in the village of Vilarinha and town of Lagos, the latter boasting its own ample beach, which is pictured in winter. You often have an entire beach to yourself to walk, explore and enjoy.

Meanwhile, Florida’s Anna Maria Island offers wonderful stretches of clean silver white sand. There are three main public beaches at Bayfront Park, Manatee Public Beach and Coquina Beach, and three large areas with multiple beach access points on the Gulf side of the City of Anna Maria, Bradenton Beach and Holmes Beach.

You Could Be On The Beach …

Our holiday homes are available all year round which means they offer a phenomenal festive treat – a chance to enjoy the holiday season with the beach right on your doorstep.

Many families choose to enjoy a break over Christmas or the New Year in our home-from-home rentals in Anna Maria Island, Florida, or Portugal’s Algarve.

It’s fun, it’s different and it’s a great way to get away from it all and bond with your family in new surroundings. Get the log fire roaring in a Portugal cottage as the sun goes down after a day of activities in pleasant daytime temperatures. The Algarve gets around 300 days of sunshine a year – expect highs of 18C in December.

In Anna Maria Island temperatures have been known to climb into the 80s in December – T-shirt and shorts weather for most of us! It will be cooler in the evenings and early mornings but still glorious by most people’s standards. Expect highs of 23C and lows of 13C. Florida is a wonderful place to enjoy winter sunshine.

Sunlight enhances health and wellbeing and makes us feel happier and more active. Consequently, the benefits of a winter holiday can actually outweigh a summer one.
